We are looking for young designers (0-4 years of work experience) to join our design team and help us define how people collaborate on APIs. We’re excited to work with talented designers that care deeply about developer tooling and how integral they are to our digital world.
The opportunity:
The designer will work with the Workspaces and Collaboration squad to define experiences, product features and workflows that help teams work together & ship quality APIs.
APIs, much like design artefacts, are built in coordination with many stakeholders. For the API to create end-user and business impact, stakeholders must be aligned, aware of work happening and provide continuous feedback. Workspaces are at the epicentre of this and our collaboration squad builds foundation tools required to foster this world like: comments, access management (sharing), version control and so much more.
If you want to shape solve problems of people working in the digital space and shape how software is built for the next decade, this role will be a great fit
About the role:
Product designers in Postman are crucial for helping teams execute great experiences. This can range from building prototypes to help visualise an idea to shipping high quality experiences for our end-users.
In this role we expect a high excellence in design craft.
What you’ll do:
-
Research and build empathy with end-users of your problem space
Identify ways to hear your users, understand their needs and pain points and map their mental models. This can include methods like user interviews, studying Github requests, understanding customer feedback via gong, engaging with users on X(Twitter) etc. -
Understand business outcomes and goals
Design must enable our business to achieve success. We cannot design for ideal outcomes or only for user needs. Find the balance. This means you need to understand our business objectives. Ask your manager, engineers, PMs and other product leaders questions. -
Validate ideas to ship with confidence
Be comfortable presenting ideas and solutions in the form of prototypes. Gather feedback from stakeholders and actual users to build confidence in your solution space, objectively. -
Design system
Advocating for and rigorously using the design system is imperative for consistency and great developer experience.
About You:

-

-
You love making complex systems simple and intuitive.
